Larry A. Smith – president and general manager

Larry Smith founded the company in 1984 after 10 years as a writer/editor with the Bahamas News Bureau. He began his career as a reporter at the Nassau Guardian and in 2003 took a year’s leave of absence from Media Enterprises to head a transition management team at the Guardian following its acquisition by local investors. Since 2004 he has written a weekly column on current affairs, the environment and heritage issues for the Nassau Tribune. He was a director of the Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas from 2007 to 2012, and has a degree in journalism and politics from the University of Miami, Florida.

Neil E. Sealey – director of publishing & distribution

Neil E. Sealey was a geography professor at the College of the Bahamas from 1979 to 1995, and has worked closely with the Ministry of Education for the last 20 years. He edited The Bahamas Journal of Science – published by Media Enterprises from 1993 to 2004 – and is the author of six text books, including Bahamian Landscapes (Macmillan Caribbean 2006) and Caribbean World (Cambridge University Press, 1992). He was also editorial consultant for Macmillan Caribbean’s 2000 edition of Caribbean Certificate Atlas. He was educated at Oxford and London Universities.

Joanne P. Smith – vice president and art director

Joanne Smith was born and educated in Guyana. She trained at the Carib Advertising Agency in Georgetown and after emigrating to the Bahamas in 1980, worked as a graphic artist at Junkanoo Magazine and at Dupuch Publications. She was advertising manager at Nassau Motor Company before joining Media Enterprises in 1986. She is an active member of the Bahamas National Trust and the Rotary Club of East Nassau.
